Scale

Sandwich Components

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 cups beef brisket, sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup coleslaw

Instructions

  1. Heat the brisket: Warm the beef brisket in a pan over medium heat or in the microwave until hot and ready to serve.
  2. Prepare the buns: Preheat the broiler to 500°F. Place the tops of the hamburger buns upside down on a baking sheet, then place a slice of provolone cheese on each bun top.
  3. Melt the cheese: Broil the buns under the broiler for 2 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is bubbly. Remove from the oven carefully.
  4. Assemble the sandwich: Layer the hot beef brisket over the bottom halves of the buns. Spoon barbecue sauce evenly over the brisket, then add a generous amount of coleslaw on top.
  5. Finish and serve: Place the cheese-topped bun halves back over the assembled bottoms. Serve the sandwiches immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Store the ingredients separately in the refrigerator. Beef brisket, cheese slices, and coleslaw can be kept up to 5 days before serving.
  • You can toast the buns and melt cheese in the oven, on a grill, or in a pan on the stove depending on your preference and available equipment.
  • If you prefer, serve the sandwiches without melting the cheese for a different texture.
