Description

Delightful and festive Snowman Oreo Balls made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and white chocolate, decorated to look like adorable snowmen. Perfect for holiday parties or winter treats.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 45 Oreo cookies (about 18 ounces, family size package)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers (divided)

Decorations

  • 12 mini Oreos (pulled apart)
  • 24 Rolos candies (dark chocolate for best color match)
  • Holly sprinkle mix
  • Snowman sprinkle mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare tray: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside for placing the Oreo balls.
  2. Crush Oreos: Add all 45 Oreo cookies to a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
  3. Mix cream cheese: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer on high speed to beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Combine Oreo crumbs: Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix on medium speed until fully combined.
  5. Form balls: Using a medium cookie scoop, portion the mixture into evenly sized balls. Roll each ball in your palms to smooth them out. Place them on the prepared baking tray. Chill the balls in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  6. Make snowman hats: Melt about 1/4 cup of the white chocolate wafers in the microwave using 30-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted. Split the mini Oreos in half and remove the cream filling. Using a skewer, dab some melted chocolate on one Oreo half, immediately press an inverted Rolo candy onto it, and sprinkle with holly sprinkle mix. Repeat for all hats and allow chocolate to harden.
  7. Melt remaining chocolate: Melt the remaining white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
  8. Dip Oreo balls: Use a fork to dip each Oreo ball into the melted chocolate. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl to even out the coating, then place the coated ball back onto the baking tray.
  9. Decorate faces: Quickly decorate each dipped ball with snowman sprinkle mix to create faces: two black sugar pearl sprinkles for eyes, a carrot sprinkle for the nose, and black sugar pearls for the smile. Work quickly as the coating may set fast.
  10. Add hats: Place the decorated snowman hats on top of each Oreo ball. If the chocolate coating has set, dab a little melted chocolate on top before placing the hat to ensure it sticks. Hold in place for a few seconds to set.
  11. Set completely: Allow the Oreo balls to set completely at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Any flavored Oreos can be used in this recipe for different variations.
  • If Wilton’s Snowman Decorating Sprinkles are unavailable, substitute black sugar pearls or black icing gel for eyes and smile, and use orange sprinkles or orange Tic Tacs for the nose.
  • Store leftover Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
