Ingredients
Scale
Cookie Dough
- 2 cups store-bought or homemade edible cookie dough
Decorations
- 9 mini Oreos
- 18 Rolo chocolate candies
- 18 snowflake sprinkles (optional)
- Black and orange pearl sprinkles, for decorating
Ganache
- 2 cups (240 g) white chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp. coconut oil
Instructions
- Prepare cookie dough balls: Portion cookie dough into 1-Tbsp. scoops on a parchment-lined baking sheet, making 18 balls. Freeze dough until very firm, about 15 minutes.
- Prepare Oreo hats: Separate Oreos and scrape off frosting carefully and set aside.
- Make white chocolate ganache: In a medium heatproof bowl, microwave white chocolate chips and coconut oil in 15-second increments, stirring well between each, until melted and smooth, about 1 minute.
- Create ganache bases: Spoon 18 rounds of ganache, approximately 1 inch in diameter, onto a separate parchment-lined baking sheet. Save extra ganache for dipping and assembling.
- Assemble candy hats: Dip the smaller end of each Rolo into remaining ganache. Attach the dipped side to the flat side of an Oreo to create a snowman hat. If using, dip snowflake sprinkles in ganache and place at the rim where the Oreo meets the Rolo.
- Coat dough balls and assemble snowmen: Roll each frozen dough scoop into a smooth ball. Using a fork, dip one dough ball at a time into the ganache to fully coat it. Gently press the coated dough ball onto a ganache round on the baking sheet. Quickly decorate by attaching 2 black sugar pearls as eyes, 3 to 4 black pearls in a semicircle for a mouth, and 1 orange pearl as the nose. Place the prepared candy hat on top.
- Set and serve: Allow chocolate to set completely at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving.
Notes
- If you prefer, substitute Oreos with gluten-free sandwich cookies to make the recipe gluten free.
- Use vegan white chocolate chips and vegan cookie dough to make a vegan version.
- Make sure the cookie dough is edible and safe to eat raw; do not use regular dough containing raw eggs.
- The ganache sets faster if placed briefly in the refrigerator, but let snowmen reach room temperature before serving for best texture.
- Customize decorations with different colored sprinkles or candies for variety.
