- 8 cups corn or rice Chex cereal
Chocolate Mixture
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or milk chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Coating
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
Add-ins
- 1 cup mini peanut butter cups
- 1 ½ cups red and green M&M’s
Instructions
- Prepare Chocolate Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently until the chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated into the melted chocolate mixture.
- Combine with Cereal: Place the Chex cereal in a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir thoroughly until all the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
- Coat with Powdered Sugar: Add the powdered sugar to the chocolate-coated cereal and stir until the mixture is completely coated and no longer sticky to the touch.
- Add Candy Mix-ins: Gently fold in the mini peanut butter cups and red and green M&M’s until they are evenly distributed throughout the snack mix.

- Almond butter can be substituted for peanut butter for those with peanut allergies.
