Description

Refreshing and sweet Peach Iced Tea made with a homemade peach syrup combining honey and sugar, brewed tea, and served with frozen peaches and ice for a perfect summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 family size tea bag

Peach Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 cups frozen peaches, thawed and pureed (or fresh peeled and sliced peaches)

For Serving

  • 2 cups frozen peaches (do not thaw; if fresh, slice and freeze)
  • Ice as needed

Instructions

  1. Make the Tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, remove from heat, add the tea bag and steep for 5 minutes. Pour the brewed tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Peach Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup water, sugar, and honey. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves fully. Add the pureed peaches and return to a low boil, then remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Strain the Syrup: Pour the peach mixture through a mesh sieve into a small bowl, pressing the peaches to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp.
  4. Sweeten the Tea: Add the peach syrup to the brewed tea gradually, tasting until desired sweetness is reached. Typically, 1 to 2 cups of syrup per quart of tea is ideal.
  5. Serve: Divide the frozen peaches among 4 glasses, add ice, and pour the peach tea over. Serve immediately.
  6. Storage: Refrigerate any unused peach syrup for future use and store leftover tea in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Using frozen peaches works well and allows enjoyment year-round even without fresh peaches.
  • Adjust syrup quantity to your preferred sweetness level.
  • If using fresh peaches for frozen ones, slice and freeze them on a parchment-lined pan before serving.
  • Store leftover tea and syrup in the fridge to maintain freshness.
