Description

Festive and delicious Grinch Christmas Truffles made with crushed Oreos, cream cheese, and coated in green-colored vanilla almond bark, decorated with red heart sprinkles. Perfect bite-sized treats for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 36 regular Oreos
  • ½ cup whipped cream cheese spread
  • 12 ounces vanilla almond bark
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 18 red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and crush completely into crumbs, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Combine with cream cheese: Pour the crumbs into a large mixing bowl and stir in the whipped cream cheese spread until a thick mixture forms. Use your clean hands to mix thoroughly for best results.
  3. Form truffle balls: Scoop the mixture into balls using a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop and roll them smooth. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill balls: Refrigerate the truffle balls for 30 minutes to 1 hour until firm.
  5. Melt almond bark: Place vanilla almond bark in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, stir well, then continue microwaving in 15-30 second increments, stirring in between, until completely melted (about 2 minutes total). Avoid overheating.
  6. Add color: Stir in green gel food coloring until your desired shade of green is achieved. Do not use liquid food coloring to prevent seizing.
  7. Dip truffles: Dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted almond bark until fully coated. Let excess drip off, then place back on the parchment paper.
  8. Decorate and chill: Place one red heart sprinkle on each truffle while coating is still soft. Refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour until the coating is fully hardened.
  9. Serve: Serve the truffles cold or at room temperature for a festive treat.

Notes

  • Store truffles covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze wrapped truffles in a freezer-safe bag or container for 3-4 months.
  • You can substitute other Oreo cookie varieties if preferred.
  • Regular cream cheese can be used instead of whipped cream cheese but should be softened to room temperature and may require slightly less than ½ cup.
  • Any red heart candy or holiday sprinkles can be used for decoration, or leave plain if desired.
  • Mix Oreo crumbs and cream cheese with hands for easier incorporation.
  • Do not use liquid food coloring with almond bark to avoid seizing.
