Description

This Garlic Butter Lobster Tails recipe features succulent lobster meat brushed with a flavorful garlic butter sauce, seasoned with paprika, Old Bay, and fresh parsley. Perfectly broiled for a golden finish, this dish is elegant and simple to prepare, making it ideal for a special dinner or celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Lobster Tails

  • 4 lobster tails

Seasoning Mix

  • 1 1/4 teaspoon paprika, divided
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

To Serve

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the lobster tails.
  2. Prepare Lobster Tails: Use kitchen scissors to carefully cut down the back of each lobster shell until reaching the tail’s base, keeping the tail intact. Gently pull the shell back to loosen the meat, then lift it and place it on top of the shell. Remove the black vein if present and rinse under cold water if needed.
  3. Season Lobster: Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet with a rack. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning evenly over the lobster meat.
  4. Bake: Bake the lobster tails in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to cook the meat through.
  5. Prepare Garlic Butter Sauce: While baking, melt the butter and combine it with chopped parsley, grated garlic, lemon zest, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt. Stir well to combine all flavors.
  6. Brush Lobster Tails: Remove 3 tablespoons of the garlic butter sauce for later use. Brush the remaining sauce generously over the lobster tails after the initial baking.
  7. Broil: Turn the oven broiler on high and broil the lobster tails for 3 minutes to achieve a golden crust.
  8. Finish and Serve: Remove the lobster tails from the oven and top with the reserved garlic butter sauce. Serve immediately with lemon wedges for squeezing over the meat.

Notes

  • Use fresh lobster tails for the best flavor and texture.
  • You can substitute Old Bay seasoning with a Cajun or seafood seasoning blend if desired.
  • Be careful not to overcook the lobster to avoid tough meat; watch closely during broiling.
  • Grated garlic can be replaced with minced garlic if you prefer a different texture.
  • Serve lobster tails with a side of steamed vegetables or crusty bread to complete the meal.
