Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe combines the savory flavors of buttery garlic bread with classic pizza toppings for a quick and delicious meal. Featuring a soft bakery-style French bread base topped with garlic butter, pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, pepperoni, and parmesan, it’s perfect for an easy dinner or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter:

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

For the French Bread Pizzas:

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉ and line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic cloves, and chopped fresh parsley until well mixed.
  3. Prepare Bread: Cut the French bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces resembling garlic bread.
  4. Spread Garlic Butter: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut side of each bread piece. Place the bread cut side up on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes to lightly toast and infuse the garlic flavor.
  5. Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup of pizza sauce on each slice evenly.
  6. Top with Cheese and Pepperoni: Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and parmesan cheese over the sauced bread halves.
  7. Bake Pizzas: Return the sheet pan to the oven and bake for 18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread turn golden brown.
  8. Rest and Garnish: Take the garlic bread pizzas out of the oven and let them rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, additional parmesan, and chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  9. Serve: Slice the garlic bread pizzas into pieces and serve while warm.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style French or Italian bread with a soft crust for the best texture.
  • For a faster option, substitute frozen garlic bread and skip the garlic butter step; just add sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  • Low-moisture mozzarella shredded fresh yields the best melt and texture.
  • Adding parmesan cheese along with mozzarella enhances flavor complexity.
  • Red pepper flakes add a nice optional kick for spice lovers.
