Description

Delicious and festive Christmas Peanut Clusters made easily in a crockpot, combining dry roasted peanuts, semisweet chocolate chips, German chocolate, peanut butter chips, and almond bark for a smooth, rich holiday treat that sets perfectly and can be decorated with sprinkles for an extra touch of cheer.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds dry roasted peanuts (two 16-ounce jars)
  • 1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
  • 1 (4-ounce) German chocolate baking bar, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 48 ounces almond bark (two 24-ounce packages)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Add the dry roasted peanuts to the bottom of a large slow cooker. Sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips, broken German chocolate pieces, and peanut butter chips evenly on top of the peanuts. Then break up the almond bark into chunks and layer it on top of all the ingredients. Cover the crockpot with the lid.
  2. Cook Slowly: Set the slow cooker to LOW heat and cook for 2 hours without stirring to allow all the chocolate and almond bark to melt and combine with the peanuts.
  3. Stir Mixture: After cooking, remove the lid carefully and stir well until the mixture is smooth and all ingredients are fully combined.
  4. Shape Clusters: Use a rounded spoon to drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper. If desired, decorate the clusters immediately with sprinkles before they harden.
  5. Cool Completely: Let the peanut clusters cool until they are completely firm and set, about 1 hour, before storing or serving.

Notes

  • Storage: Store clusters in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks or refrigerate for up to 1 month.
  • Freezing: These clusters freeze well for up to 2 months if stored airtight. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
  • Mix-ins: Add raisins, marshmallows, or pretzels into the mixture before shaping for different textures and flavors.
  • Decoration: Sprinkles or crushed candy canes can be used to decorate the clusters for a festive holiday appearance.
