Main Ingredients
- 1 can biscuits (16.3 ounces), buttermilk or flaky style
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ stick butter, melted (2 ounces)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Biscuit Dough: Open the can of biscuits and separate each biscuit. Cut each biscuit into four equal pieces, then roll each piece into a ball. Place the balls evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake Biscuits: Bake the biscuit balls in the oven for 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Note that the biscuits will spread out and lose their round shape during baking, which is normal.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: While the biscuits bake, whisk together the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and set aside for coating later.
- Cool Biscuits: Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for five minutes. If desired, break them in half as flaky biscuits break easily.
- Coat with Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Place the warm biscuits in a large bowl. Pour the melted butter over them and stir gently to coat all pieces. Then add the cinnamon sugar mixture and stir again until all biscuit bites are well coated.
- Serve and Store: Serve the cinnamon sugar biscuit bites immediately for best taste. Store any leftovers covered at room temperature and consume within one day for optimal freshness.
Notes
- Using flaky-style biscuits will yield more tender, flaky biscuit bites that break easily.
- If you prefer a stronger cinnamon flavor, increase cinnamon to 1 ½ teaspoons.
- For a richer taste, substitute butter with melted coconut oil or use clarified butter (ghee).
- These biscuit bites are best eaten the same day to enjoy their fresh, crispy exterior and soft interior.
- You can add a drizzle of icing or glaze if you want a sweeter dessert-style treat.
