Description

Christmas Marshmallow Pops are festive treats made by threading marshmallows onto candy canes and coating them with melted chocolate and decorative candy melts. These easy-to-make pops are perfect for holiday celebrations, combining the sweetness of marshmallows with the crunch of candy canes and colorful, fun toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

Marshmallow Pops

  • 6 candy canes unwrapped
  • 18 large marshmallows

Chocolate Coatings

  • 1 cup melting chocolate
  • 1 cup white melting chocolate
  • ¼ cup green melts
  • ¼ cup red melts

Decorations

  • 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes
  • 2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Assemble: Thread 3 marshmallows onto each candy cane. If you keep the candy canes wrapped, give them a quick gentle wash first to remove dust. Unwrapped candy canes may break easily, so handle carefully.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Place the melting chocolate and white melting chocolate each in microwave-safe bowls. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth and fully melted. Do the same with the green and red melts following package instructions if different.
  3. Coat: Working quickly, coat half of the marshmallows on the candy canes with melted brown chocolate and the other half with melted white chocolate. Use a spoon to drizzle chocolate over the entire marshmallow surface, avoiding the candy cane loop. Place the coated pops on parchment paper.
  4. Decorate: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle crushed candy canes and holiday sprinkles over the marshmallows. Use melted red and green melts to drizzle or pipe decorative designs over some pops. Set aside for about 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
  5. Serve: Once hardened, the marshmallow pops are ready to enjoy or package as holiday treats.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep marshmallow pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days. If your environment is warm, store in the refrigerator to prevent melting.
  • Freezing: Freezing is not recommended as it can affect the texture of the marshmallows and decorations.
  • Crushing Candy Canes: Use a food processor or place candy canes in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin for even pieces.
  • Allow coating to harden: Ensure chocolate coating is fully set before storing to maintain appearance and texture.
