Description

This Chicken Bacon Ranch Stromboli combines tender shredded rotisserie chicken, crispy bacon, creamy ranch dressing, and gooey mozzarella cheese, all wrapped in golden, flaky pizza dough. It’s a flavorful and easy-to-make dish perfect for weeknight dinners or game-day gatherings, offering a delicious blend of smoky, cheesy, and tangy flavors in a convenient handheld form.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Stromboli

  • 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped crisp bacon (about 12 slices)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing

Topping and Wash

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1-2 tablespoons water (for egg wash)
  • 1 teaspoon ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Additional ranch dressing for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the stromboli.
  2. Roll Out Dough: Roll the refrigerated pizza dough out on a piece of parchment paper placed on a sheet pan, stretching it to form a rectangle.
  3. Add Cheese: Spread 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella evenly down the center of the dough, leaving about an inch of space at each end and roughly a third of the dough empty on either side.
  4. Layer Fillings: Top the cheese with the shredded rotisserie chicken, chopped crisp bacon, and ½ cup ranch dressing evenly.
  5. Shape Stromboli: Fold over the empty side of the dough, then roll it tightly like a cinnamon roll, pinching the seams and ends well to seal the stromboli.
  6. Prepare Egg Wash: In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to create an egg wash.
  7. Apply Egg Wash and Season: Place the stromboli seam-side down on the sheet pan, brush the top with the egg wash, then sprinkle evenly with 1 teaspoon ranch seasoning and 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley. Cut a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  8. Bake: Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  9. Serve: Allow to cool slightly, slice, and serve with additional ranch dressing for dipping, if desired.

Notes

  • Use cooked and shredded rotisserie chicken for convenience and flavor.
  • Make sure to crisp bacon well before adding to avoid sogginess.
  • Rolling tightly and sealing edges properly ensures filling stays inside while baking.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking on the sheet pan.
  • You can substitute ranch dressing with vegan ranch to make the recipe dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
  • If refrigerated dough is not available, homemade pizza dough can be used.
