Description

This Cherry Kool-Aid Pie is a no-bake, easy-to-make dessert perfect for hot summer days. Made with a graham cracker crust, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, black cherry Kool-Aid mix, and Cool Whip, it’s a refreshing, colorful treat that’s ready after chilling.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 6 ounce pre-made graham cracker crust

Filling

  • 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 14 ounce container sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.13 ounce packet unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix
  • 8 ounce container Cool Whip, thawed

Garnish

  • 1 cup Cool Whip, thawed (optional for garnish)
  • 8 maraschino cherries with stems

Instructions

  1. Beat Cream Cheese: In a medium mixing bowl, use a handheld mixer on medium-high speed to beat the softened cream cheese for 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and continue mixing for another minute until fully combined with the cream cheese.
  3. Mix in Kool-Aid Powder: Sprinkle the unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix into the bowl and mix until the color is uniform throughout the filling.
  4. Incorporate Cool Whip: Add the thawed Cool Whip and mix on low speed until the filling is well blended and fluffy.
  5. Fill the Crust: Spoon the filling evenly into the pre-made graham cracker crust and spread it flat with a spatula. Cover the pie with plastic wrap or the crust’s plastic lid.
  6. Chill the Pie: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours to allow it to set properly.
  7. Slice the Pie: Once chilled, slice the pie into 8 equal pieces.
  8. Add Garnish: Using a decorating bag or a quart-size Ziploc bag with a corner snipped off, pipe swirls of the extra Cool Whip onto the edges of each slice. Top each swirl with a maraschino cherry.
  9. Serve and Store: Keep the pie chilled until ready to serve. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze without garnish for up to 1 month.

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze the pie without the Cool Whip and cherry garnish for up to 1 month. Wrap tightly with aluminum foil before freezing.
  • Thawing: Thaw frozen pie overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • Kool-Aid Variations: Any flavor of Kool-Aid can be substituted for the black cherry flavor for variety.
  • Crust Lid: The plastic cover from the graham cracker crust can be used as a lid for storage and freezing when the paper center is removed.
  • Garnish Matching: Use corresponding fruits for different Kool-Aid flavors to complement the pie’s taste and appearance.
  • Keep chilled: Always keep the pie refrigerated until serving to maintain texture and freshness.
