Description

A comforting and easy-to-make Cheesy Chicken Crescent Roll Bake featuring tender shredded chicken, gooey mozzarella cheese, and a creamy chicken soup sauce wrapped in golden crescent rolls. Perfect for a family dinner or potluck meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Mixture

  • 1 lb boneless skinless cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons oregano

Crescent Rolls

  • 2 packages crescent rolls (8 count each)

Creamy Sauce

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 10.5 oz milk (use soup can for measurement)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken Mixture: Place the cooked and shredded chicken in a bowl and add 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons each of garlic powder and oregano on top, then stir thoroughly to coat the chicken evenly.
  2. Stuff Crescent Rolls: Unroll each crescent roll and scoop about 1/3 cup of the chicken mixture onto the wide end of the dough. Slowly roll the crescent roll up, enclosing the chicken mixture inside. Repeat until all crescent rolls are stuffed.
  3. Arrange in Baking Pan: Place the stuffed crescent rolls into a 9x13 inch baking pan, arranging them evenly with some space between.
  4. Make Creamy Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the remaining 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup, and 10.5 oz milk. Heat until the cheese is melted and the mixture is warm and smooth, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour Sauce Over Rolls: Pour the warm creamy sauce evenly over the stuffed crescent rolls, ensuring they are completely coated.
  6. Bake: Place the pan into a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 40 minutes until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
  7. Serve: Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy the cheesy and creamy chicken bake warm!

Notes

  • You can substitute rotisserie chicken for a quicker option.
  • For a spicier twist, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the chicken mixture.
  • Use low-fat or reduced-sodium cream of chicken soup and milk to make it lighter.
  • Make sure the crescent rolls are fully rolled to prevent filling from leaking.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Use shredded cooked turkey as an alternative to chicken.
