Description

A refreshing and festive Apple Cider Float featuring creamy vanilla bean ice cream combined with cold apple cider, garnished with cinnamon sugar, apple slices, and warming spices. Perfect for a quick treat or seasonal celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Ice Cream and Cider

  • 1 cup Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (8 ounces)
  • 1 cup Cold Apple Cider or Sparkling Apple Cider

Garnishes

  • Cinnamon Sugar (optional, for garnish)
  • Red Apple Slices
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Whole Star Anise

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass: Place 1 cup of vanilla bean ice cream into a tall glass, filling it about two-thirds full.
  2. Add Apple Cider: Slowly pour 1 cup of cold apple cider or sparkling apple cider over the ice cream, watching the bubbles if using sparkling cider.
  3. Garnish the Float: Decorate the drink by adding a fan of red apple slices, a cinnamon stick, whole star anise, and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar along the side and on top of the glass.
  4. Serve Immediately: Serve the apple cider float right away to enjoy the best texture and freshness.

Notes

  • Do not store the assembled float; it is best enjoyed immediately for optimal texture.
  • You can prepare garnishes and chill the cider and glasses ahead of time for convenience.
  • To create an apple fan, slice thin, even apple slices, stack them, fan the top slices out, and secure with a cocktail pick.
  • Use longer cinnamon sticks for tall glasses and shorter ones for smaller cups.
  • Choose regular or sparkling cider based on preference; sparkling adds bubbles but can be poured slowly to control fizz.
  • For an adult version, add a splash of spiced rum, bourbon, or Fireball before pouring cider.
  • Enhance presentation with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, a pinch of nutmeg, or even a mini donut on top.
