Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 2 8oz tubes crescent roll dough
Meat and Cheese
- 8 oz provolone cheese sliced
- ¼ lb deli ham sliced
- ¼ lb hard salami sliced
- ¼ lb pepperoni sliced
- ¼ lb mozzarella cheese sliced
Vegetables and Others
- 1 12oz can roasted red bell peppers sliced thin
- ½ cup jarred pepperoncini peppers drained
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- First Layer of Dough: Unroll one tube of crescent roll dough into the prepared baking dish, pinching together all the seams to form a solid base. Brush the dough with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season it with salt, black pepper, and half (½ tbsp) of the dried oregano evenly over the surface.
- Add Layers: Layer the sliced deli ham, hard salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, mozzarella cheese, roasted red bell peppers, and drained pepperoncini peppers evenly over the dough base.
- Top Layer of Dough: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough over the layered ingredients, again pinching the seams together to seal the edges and enclose the filling.
- Season Top and Add Cheese: Brush the top layer of dough with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Season with salt, black pepper, and the remaining ½ tablespoon of dried oregano. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese evenly on top.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown and crispy. If the crust starts getting too dark, cover it loosely with aluminum foil to prevent burning.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the antipasto squares cool for 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- You can substitute roasted red bell peppers with jarred roasted eggplant or sun-dried tomatoes for a different flavor.
- Adjust the type of deli meats or cheeses according to preference and availability.
- Ensure to pinch seams well to keep the filling from leaking during baking.
- Letting the squares cool before slicing helps to keep the layers intact.
- Serve with a side of marinara sauce or Italian dressing for dipping if desired.
